From it a vernac. comp. ἐλαχιστότερος is formed (B-D-F §61, 2; W-S. §11, 4; Mlt. 236; M-M. s.v. ἐλαχιστότερος).① pert. to being the lowest in status, least. In our lit. only rarely as a true superl.
